EDUCATION Woodside Elementary School Dating back to 1851, the district is a unique, one-school district serving preschool through eighth grade. The school is nestled in the town of Woodside, California and serves as the focal point of the community. The Junior League of Palo Alto Mid Peninsula - Finishing Touches Home Tour Women Building Better Communities BeadForLife Bead For Life helps eradicate extreme poverty by creating bridges of understanding between impoverished Africans and concerned world citizens. Ugandan women turn colorful recycled paper into beautiful bead jewelry and people who care open their hearts, homes and communities to buy and sell the beads. The beads become income, food, medicine, school fees and hope. It is a small miracle that connects and enriches everybody in the Bead Circle. All net profits from BeadForLife are invested in community development projects that help people work their way out of poverty. AT RISK AND DISADVANTAGED YOUTH

The Family Service Agency of San Mateo County - Holidays on a High Note Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired The Menlo Charity Horse Show is one of the finest professional/amateur equestrian events in the United States and is unique in that its origin and legacy is one of philanthropy. Peninsula Youth Theater - Hollywood Hosts Oakland Police Officer’s Family Fund When 4 Oakland Police Officers were slain, Emily Joubert hosted a fundraiser to benefit their families. Emily Joubert partnered with 49 Square Miles handbags and a handful of sponsors to raise over $27,000 for the families which included several small children. MENTAL HEALTH
Valle Monte League – Valle Monte Christmas Tree Elegance Valle Monte League, Inc. is an all-volunteer non-profit organization with more than 150 dedicated and enthusiastic members. The League was established in 1950, specifically to raise funds for licensed mental health agencies in Santa Clara Valley. Today Valle Monte League continues to operate with no paid administration or staff. EQUINE INVOLVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY
National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy (NCEFT) The National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy (NCEFT) is a non-profit organization that improves the lives of children and adults with disabilities by providing equine-assisted therapy and activites, and by promoting research and education in the field of hippotherapy. The Horse Park at Woodside The Horse Park at Woodside is a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining the community park equestrian facility for the use of its members and equestrian educational organizations. Whoa! The Day of the Horse The Woodside-area Horse Owner’s Association was founded to preserve the fundamental role of horses in maintaining the rural character of the Town of Woodside and neighboring foothill communities, to enhance opportunities for equestrian activities, and to promote the enjoyments of horses in all their various roles. Folger Barn Preservation The Folger Estate Stable Committee is working to to preserve the historic Folger Estate Stable in Wunderlich Park so that future generations of children and adults can enjoy its unique architecture and history as well as the horse boarding it offers. Filoli – The Annual Filoli Flower Show Located 30 miles south of San Francisco, Filoli is an historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and one of the finest remaining country estates of the early 20th century.
